Pre-Game Report: Eagles vs. Rivermen

Tonight the Surrey Eagles open their pre-season campaign against the Langley Rivermen. It's the first of a home-and-home with the Rivermen. The second game will be played tomorrow night at the Langley Sportsplex.

The two teams faced each other once in the 2011 pre-season, when the Eagles picked up a 2-1 win on home ice. Surrey also won the regular season series 5-2-0-1.

Eagles Players to Watch:

Craig Wyszomirski: The 20-year-old defenseman comes to the Eagles after spending last season in the NCAA at Providence College where he only played four games. The hulking blue-liner, who stands at 6'4 and is nearly 220 pounds, is expected to be a key piece for Surrey this season.

Brandon Morley: The younger of the two Morleys returns for his third BCHL season with the Eagles. With the departure of his older brother Tyler to the NCAA, Brandon is expected to take on an increased role both on and off the ice this season.

Drew Best: A native of Michigan, Best is going into his first season in the BCHL. The 18-year-old had a strong showing a training camp earlier in the week and will likely feature prominently in the Eagles offense this season.
